Henry (Hank) A. Paine, III, Ph.D, PGDip, LPC, NCC, FACFE, DABFC

 

Having the privilege to offer services in a variety of professional settings, Hank currently spends most of his time in the role of a police psychologist. Frequently referred to as "Doc" by law enforcement officers, Hank is contracted with several local agencies to provide psychological services, including serving as the SWAT team consultant. In addition, he has served as consultant, instructor, or service provider for local, state and federal criminal justice agencies. He has presented research findings to international audiences on tactical team policing. Most recently, he had the honor of being elected the 2012 President of The Society for Police and Criminal Psychology where he also serves on the Executive Board. Hank also maintains a practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor and has over 20 years of experience in providing counseling and psychotherapy. He has been designated a Fellow and Diplomate by several international forensic organizations and is a member of a variety of professional forensic, counseling, and psychological organizations.

 

Hank received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and his M.A. in marriage and family therapy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He later received an ED.S. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and then his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama, with honors. Hank also finished a two-year Post-Graduate Diploma (post-doctoral) in Forensic and Legal Psychology at the University of Leicester, UK. His research interests include high-risk policing and vulnerability (threat) assessment methods.
