David was born and raised in Southern California. He also lived in Atlanta for ten years before coming to Birmingham in 2009. David is a fan of outdoor activities including hiking, Cross-fit, and nearly all sports. David has three children including a daughter living and working in England, a son in California, and a third son finishing his last year of high school in Georgia. He was newly married in 2014 and lives with his wife and two dogs in Leeds. He is also very active in serving at church.

David received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University and his Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He furthered his education with a post-graduate degree at the University of Alabama.

David has also been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy which is used to treat clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder as well as EMDR, used to treat past trauma.

David has several years of experience working at a substance abuse clinic with both clients and their families. David has experience working with those who suffer from all forms of addiction including sex addictions.
