Helen Catherine Hammock
M.A., ALC, NCC
Helen Catherine earned her Masters in Mental and Clinical Health Counseling from Liberty University. She is married with three beautiful young children. Helen Catherine primarily works with men and women from late adolescence to adulthood, supporting them through anxiety, depression, relational stress, grief or loss, and parenting. She welcomes those who feel uncertain about whether counseling is for them and starts their work in a non-intimidating environment.
In her practice, Helen Catherine integrates attachment theory, cognitive behavior therapy, bilateral stimulation, and somatic practices. She assists individuals in exploring repressed and present trauma, guiding them in their attachment patterns from childhood through adulthood. She firmly believes that our bodies hold our trauma and therefore, integrates somatic practices. Helen Catherine strives to create a secure environment for her clients, ensuring they remain within their window of tolerance to feel supported and nurtured.
Helen Catherine has a sober understanding of the hardships we all face on earth. She has dedicated her past and future studies to understanding more of how God made the body and the brain. All her efforts are to help facilitate healing and restoration, while we all wait in anticipation for resurrection and ultimate healing.
