Benefit 2022

Trinity's 10th annual Autumn Benefit: Tacos for Trinity was an amazing success! Once again,
we exceeded our goals, beyond our expectations. Our Event Board and Board of Directors
would like to thank everyone who helped make it such a fantastic and successful event! Over
100 guests enjoyed a delicious fajita/taco buffet from La Paz with live bluegrass music from The
Whistlebees. Our amazing silent auction included many beautiful pieces of original art, an
incredible selection of 3 different regional wine packages, some great items for the ladies and
the men, a beach get-a-way plus many more. It generated many bids and much excitement. All
in all, a festive, perfect night!

Why Support Trinity Counseling?
 
Trinity Counseling is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2000 that serves the greater
Birmingham area by providing affordable faith-based counseling, mental health services, and
support programs to those in need, regardless of their economic or financial status. Trinity
Counseling also provides special support services to service providers. These individuals include
pastors, mental health counselors, social workers, school counselors, military, police and other
first responders.
 
The COVID pandemic has had a massive effect on the mental health industry. Since the
beginning of this crisis, almost 800,000 Alabamians reported that their mental health was
negatively impacted due to worry and stress over the virus and other factors and 51% reported
that their mental health needs went unmet due to cost factors. Awareness, access, and
affordability of mental health resources are 3 major factors in determining whether a person is
able to get the support they need during times of increased stress. Trinity Counseling prioritizes
all three. In 2021 alone Trinity provided 8,000+ counseling sessions and responded to 800+
NEW requests for counseling appointments. The needs continue to grow and funding is critical.
Tacos for Trinity produces the majority of the funding we use to meet those needs! Attendee
generosity and sponsorships enable Trinity to bridge the expansive and expensive gap between
private-practice therapy and community mental health counseling.  Because we work on a
sliding-scale, your tax-deductible gifts provide 100% of the scholarships we provide.
